Hello, I'm Steve. I own and run a label service and recording studio called Sole Canopy Records in Sydney's Lower Blue Mountains.

If you're anything like me, you probably have feelings toward your music—and everything that comes with it, from songwriting and production to 'the industry' and social media—that can be, well... complicated. Joy, frustration, disappointment, and celebration.

I built Sole Canopy Records as a place where we can gather to create and care for this calling to music that, despite everything, we just can't shake.

Of all the potential careers in my life—from tour guide to carpenter to hip-hop dancer—none of them ever called as loudly as the song, the studio, and the stage. You may be close to that voice, or you may feel far away. Either way, Sole Canopy Records exists to help you find your next step and take it well.
