Academy of Audio

Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · 31 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Academy of Audio platform: our courses, the producer tools, mentoring sessions, and the members' community. By creating an account you agree to them.

This agreement is between you and Audeezy Pty Ltd T/A Academy of Audio (ABN 19 165 265 350), of PO Box 1075, Brighton Road, Vic, 3184, Australia. In this agreement, "we", "us" and "the Academy" mean that company.

1. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 18 to create an account. By registering you confirm you are 18 or over. We may request confirmation of age and may suspend or close accounts of anyone we reasonably believe is under 18.

2. What your membership includes

Depending on the plan you choose, your membership may include:

  • Courses: online audio production courses, delivered as video and written lessons you work through at your own pace.
  • Producer tools: the estimating, contract, project and song management tools inside the Academy.
  • The community: our members' forum.
  • Mentoring sessions, where you buy them. These are sold separately from your subscription.

We add to and improve the platform over time. We may change or retire individual features. If we withdraw something significant that you are paying for, we will tell you and you may cancel under section 6.

3. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. Among other things, services must be provided with due care and skill and be fit for the purpose we describe. If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy under the law, which may include a refund, and that entitlement applies regardless of anything else in these terms. Where a failure is not major, we may choose to fix the problem within a reasonable time instead.

Everything below about refunds and cancellation is in addition to those rights, never a substitute for them.

4. Subscriptions, payment and automatic renewal

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance, on the interval shown at checkout (monthly or yearly).
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. We charge the payment method you have on file.
  • We will tell you before any price change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number.
  • Prices are in the currency shown at checkout and include GST where it applies.
  • If a payment fails we may retry it and will contact you. If it stays unpaid, access to paid features may be suspended until it is resolved.

5. Mentoring sessions

Mentoring sessions are bought as credits and booked with a mentor. Sessions run as a video call inside the Academy.

  • You can cancel or reschedule a booked session up to 24 hours before it starts, and the credit returns to your balance.
  • Inside 24 hours, or if you do not attend, the credit is used. If something genuinely went wrong, contact us, because we would rather sort it out than stand on a rule.
  • If a mentor cancels, or a session cannot go ahead because of a fault on our side, your credit is returned in full.
  • We do not record mentoring sessions.
  • Unused credits stay on your account and do not expire while your account is open.

6. Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel any time from your account settings. Your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and it does not renew again. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
  • Changed your mind: outside the consumer guarantees in section 3, we are not obliged to refund a period you have already started. In practice, if you cancel soon after a renewal you did not intend, contact us and we will look at it properly.
  • If we remove your community access as a sanction and you would rather not continue without it, contact us to cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current period on a pro-rata basis.
  • If we close your account for breach, we refund the unused portion of your current billing period on a pro-rata basis, regardless of the reason for closure.

7. Course content and intellectual property

The courses, lessons, videos, written material, templates and tools in the Academy belong to us or to the people we license them from. Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning and your own work, for as long as your access lasts.

Your access is for you alone. You may not:

  • Share your account or your login with anyone else.
  • Download, record, copy or screen-capture lessons, videos or course material.
  • Republish or redistribute course material, or resell it.
  • Use it to teach a course of your own.
  • Use it to train a machine learning model.

Course material is streamed for viewing inside the Academy while your access lasts. Breaching this may result in your account being closed under section 12.

Work you produce using the tools, including your estimates, contracts and project records, is yours.

8. The producer tools, your clients, and the client portal

The producer tools let you send a client a link to view a project, approve an estimate, or add references, without that client needing an account.

When you put someone else's information into the Academy, including a client's name, email address or business details, you confirm that you are entitled to do so and that you have told them, or will tell them, that their information is held in a system we operate on your behalf. You are responsible for what you upload about other people. We handle that information as described in our Privacy Policy.

We are not a party to your agreements with your clients. The contracts and estimates the tools help you produce are yours, and we do not provide legal, accounting or financial advice. The templates are a starting point, not a substitute for professional advice on your own circumstances.

9. If your subscription lapses, or you close your account

We would rather you kept your work than lost it, so:

  • If your subscription lapses, your account is not deleted. Paid features lock, and client portal links stop working, but your projects, estimates and records remain.
  • You can restart your subscription and pick up where you left off.
  • You can export your own data at any time while you have access. If you have lost access and need an export, contact us and we will help.
  • If you ask us to delete your account, we do so as described in the Privacy Policy. Some records are kept where the law requires it, such as invoices and tax records.

10. Your content and licence

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant the Academy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store and display your posts within the platform for the purpose of operating the community. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to post it.

11. Acceptable use

Participation in the community (posting, replying, reacting, reporting) is conditional on following the Community Guidelines at all times. Access to read community content is part of your subscription; the right to participate is a conduct-based privilege.

Across the rest of the platform, you agree not to attempt to break into or disrupt the service, scrape it in bulk, resell access to it, or use it to store or send anything unlawful.

12. Moderation and sanctions

Where you breach the Community Guidelines, we may, proportionate to the breach and your history:

  • Warn you (a note on record).
  • Mute your account (read-only) for a stated period. Your access to courses, tools, and reading the community is unaffected.
  • Remove your community access while your other subscription benefits (courses, tools) continue.
  • Close your account, reserved for serious breaches.

Serious breaches, including sexual content involving minors, threats or incitement to violence, image-based abuse, doxxing, and illegal content, may result in immediate removal or account closure without prior warning, and may be reported to law enforcement and the eSafety Commissioner.

13. Ban evasion

If your account is closed for breach, you may not create a new account. We may retain limited information (such as your email) solely to enforce this, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

14. Content removal and preservation

We may remove or hide any content that breaches these terms. We may retain copies of removed content and related reports where necessary to comply with the law, respond to regulators (including the eSafety Commissioner), or cooperate with law enforcement.

15. Reporting, complaints and appeals

You can report content using the Report function on any post, or via our contact page. We aim to acknowledge reports and act on serious matters promptly. If you are sanctioned, you may appeal, and a different reviewer will consider it where possible. You may also complain to the eSafety Commissioner.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and the Community Guidelines. We will notify you of material changes before they take effect and record the version you accepted. If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel under section 6.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. If something goes wrong, please contact us first: almost everything is quicker to fix by talking to us than through a court.
